Supporters of Salifu Amoako allegedly assault police, journalist at court

Supporters of the founder of Alive Chapel International, Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, caused a stir at the premises of the Accra High Court on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, when they allegedly assaulted a police officer and a journalist.

The altercation, which was shared in a video on the X page of GH One TV, shows a group of people involved in a heated argument during which a police officer and one other person were pushed aside.

The incident occurred during a court appearance of the pastor and his wife, Mouha, concerning a deadly crash in East Legon, involving their son, that claimed two lives.

Each of the defendants in the case was granted bail set at GH₵50,000, requiring two sureties after pleading not guilty to the charge of permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
