2024 Olympics Games: 6 Christians arrested for using a bus with ‘provocative’ inscription
Six Christians were arrested in Paris for driving a bus with the inscription ‘Stop Attacks On Christians’ on the side.
According to Citizen Go, an individual affiliated with the arrested persons, his colleagues were unjustly detained by the French police.
It was reported that six team members were forced to spend the night in jail for protesting the opening ceremony of the Olympics, which included scenes that appeared to mimic the Last Supper and were condemned by the public.
The reports also mentioned that three women were forced to undress so police could “look for drugs,” but they were later released.
In a video shared by American influencer Collin Rugg on his X page on August 7, 2024, one of the men in the bus said:
“So, as you can see, we’ve just been taken into the police van, where we’re right now being taken. The whole CitizenGo team on the ground is going to be taken to the police station, where they want to file a report. They found some kind of reason why we cannot have this bus here. We did everything within the rules. We asked if there was a need for permission.
“It seems like it’s obviously about the message [Stop Attacks On Christians]. It seems like it’s an ideological attack against a goal. So we will keep you updated or let you know what’s happening right this moment as we’ve been taken away as criminals,” he said.
The arrests come as CitizenGo has gathered 380,000 signatures demanding the International Olympic Committee issue an apology for the opening ceremony.
French authorities reportedly demanded the removal of the bus’s messaging, leading to a confrontation and subsequent arrests.
The authorities have yet to release a statement on the case.
