Young talent Andy Osei Sarfo, popularly known in music circles as Kweku Flick, has opened up about his love for betting, revealing that the outcome of his stakes kept him in the studio.
Kweku Flick, known majorly for his hit song ‘Money,’ which was released in 2020, disclosed his love for sports betting—involving predicting sports results and placing wagers on the outcomes—in a conversation with MzGee on Just Being Us.
The musician claimed that the proceeds from betting sustained his career until he found a management team willing to invest in his craft.
He explained, “I was not having any management, so I staked bets and used the money to pay for things.”
In this conversation, which also features Kweku Flick’s colleagues Kofi Jamar, Malcolm Nuna, and Yaw Tog, Kweku, who now has a manager, revealed he still participates in sports betting.
Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh, known as Kofi Jamar; Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, popularly referred to as Yaw Tog; Malcolm Nuna, whose full name is Malcolm Nunana Hehetror; and Kweku Flick, born Andy Osei Sarfo, were seen as the new faces of drill music when they rose to fame during the COVID era, with most of them receiving awards both locally and internationally.
While Kweku Flick’s “Money” became a big deal, Kofi Jamar’s “Ekorso” was a favorite among party lovers. Malcolm Nuna’s “Money,” which featured Kuami Eugene, earned him a place in the hearts and minds of music lovers. The icing on the cake for Yaw Tog was an endorsement and feature from British-Ghanaian Stormzy on “Sore,” which also featured Kwesi Arthur.
These youngsters opened up about their rise to fame and how they intend to sustain the buzz they are receiving from their teeming fans.
