The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has constructed a beautiful and proper road for the residents in the Northern Region.
The road from Tamale through Yendi, Zabzugu, to Tatale is said to be a very important road network. Until its construction, especially the Yendi-Tatale stretch, by the current government, no government had ever paid attention to it since independence.
The Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, cut sod in Yendi to begin a 160km road construction in June 2022 and promised it would be completed within two years.
Remarkably, Dr Bawumia has fulfilled his promise, as the road was fully constructed within two years, to the delight of the residents.
The road, which was in very bad shape, impeding vehicular and human movements, is now an express road serving several communities. This significantly eases travel and boosts the region’s business economy.
Travel time on the road, which used to take six hours or more from Tamale, has now been reduced to less than two hours on an average speed limit.
Many Ghanaians have praised the government, particularly Vice President Bawumia, for facilitating the project’s completion within the duration and for championing developmental projects in the North.
