Salaga SHS teacher shoots and injures student for smoking WEE

A Senior House Master of the Salaga Senior High School (SHS) in the East Gonja District of Northern Region has shot and injured one of two students who was said to be smoking wee on campus.

The students MyNewsGh.com gathered, were suspended for engaging in a similar act but found their way onto the campus of the school during entertainment session over the weekend and were seen smoking the substance at the full glare of the colleagues with impunity.

Mr. Asuma Sulley’s attention was immediately drawn to the presence of the two truant students by members of the school’s cadet corps because they were per their suspension not allowed close to the school.

But trigger-happy teacher armed himself with a single barrel gun and headed to where they were but the two students on seeing him started fleeing but he fired and them at close range injuring 19-year-old Mohammed Abdul- Rauf on both legs.

The other it was established managed to escape from harm but his colleague who sustained the gunshot wound was immediately rushed to the Salaga district hospital where he was treated and discharged

Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yusif Mohammed Tanko who confirmed the incident said efforts are underway to get the alleged teacher apprehended to assist an investigation.

Meanwhile, MyNewsGh.com has gathered that teacher in question has fled the campus and till date his whereabouts unknown.
