Hon. Kwame Baffoe Abronye, popularly known as Abronye DC, an astute politician and the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Bono Region who is known for his outspoken and controversial statements on political issues in Ghana has questioned the rationale behind the attacks from the opposition NDC on H.E. Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s choice of Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate. He is of the view that these incessant attacks are unnecessary.
“NDC party members have been crying all over, for the past two weeks, all because the incoming President His Excellency Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has nominated a certain gentleman by name, NAPO as his running mate and there is no doubt, that the man NAPO, is going to over-double our votes in the Ashanti Region.”
He also emphasized the fact that the NDC has no moral credibility to even comment on Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s selection as Bawumia’s running since they denied Ashanti the opportunity to partner Former President John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 elections.
“You rejected Kwabena Duffour and Kojo Bonsu, claiming that an Ashanti man cannot lead NDC. You again rejected Kwame Awuah Darko that ,he can’t be the running mate of JM, because he is an Ashanti.”
“Is it the case that John Mahama and his running mate have no policies for this elections and that is why the NDC party, through its communicators, has resorted to personal attacks on Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh? Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and his running mate in the person of Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka NAPO are a perfect choice for NPP victory 2024. Lawyer Tony Lithur should start drafting JM’s election petition again.” he concluded.
