The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has assured the traveling public that it is taking immediate steps to address acts of thievery and extortion at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
This development comes to light after a traveler complained about the handling of some unaccompanied baggage at Kotoka International Airport.
In response, the GACL said it has taken note of the concerns raised in the publication and is taking immediate steps to investigate and address them.
“Furthermore, plans are already in motion to restrict access to non-travelers and unauthorized personnel at security zones, such as baggage hold areas,” the GACL management said in a statement.
“Anyone found culpable in any act of thievery or extortion that negatively impacts our cherished passengers and tarnishes the image of Ghana Airports Company Limited will be dealt with according to the full extent of the law,” the management cautioned.
It further assured the general public of its commitment to ensuring that operations at the airport are safe and secure for travelers.
