We’ll ‘fight’ you to make Savannah Region Referendum succeed-Tampulma Elders warn saboteurs
The elders of the Tampulmas has called for severe sanctions against persons who are working behind the scenes to thwart the efforts of the creation of the Savannah Region.
A statement signed by the elders and copied to MyNewsGh.com warned residents from the area against acting contrary to the creation of the new region with the aim of fomenting trouble.
Spokesperson of the group, Salifu Simon Baba maintained that Tampulmas will resist any attempt by few persons and individuals who may want to prevent law-abiding citizens from exercising their constitutional duty before, during after the referendum leading to the creation of Savannah region.

PRESS RELEASE BY TRADITIONAL ELDERS OF TAMPULMA IN SUPPORT OF THE CREATION OF SAVANNAH REGION.
To all media houses
The attention of traditional elders of Tampulmas has been drawn to a meeting held in Mankarigu on November 3, 2018 by a group of people purported to be some concern youth of Tampulmas, whose aim is to destabilize the activities for the creation of the Savannah region. The general public is hereby informed that any individual or group of people who act on contrary to the creation of the region should be made to face the full rigors of the law. The general public is also hereby informed that there had never been any decision taken by Tampulmas anywhere to jeopardise the creation of this region which the people yearn for. The elders and the youth of the Tampulma people wish to entreat the general public to ignore and treate with contempt any individual or group of persons who attempt to bring the process of the region in to disrepute.
We therefore like to put on record that;
- Tampulmas are in full support and committed to the creation of Savannah region.
- Tampulmas have been part and parcel of the process leading to the creation of the Savannah region.
- Tampulmas will support in all directions to the creation of the Savannah region.
4 Tampulmas will resist any attempt by few persons and individuals who may want to prevent law abiding citizens from exercise their constitutional duty before, during after the referandum leading to the creation of Savannah region.
- the security agencies should be prepared to deal with those individuals who may want to forment troubles before, during and after the activities of the region’s creation.
In conclusion, the Tampulma elders and youth wish to state emphatically that the new Savannah region when created will come with more development opportunities for the teaming youth for the area hence, our unflinching support for it.
