Huseini Yussif declared wanted for engaging in LGBTQI+

Information gathered by thepressradio.com indicates that one Huseini Yussif has been declared wanted by the residents of Libya-Quarters a suburb of Madina in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

According to Hajia Mariama Issah, a resident of Libya Quarters Huseini was declared wanted after he was reportedly caught engaging in the act of sodomy with his male partner.

He was caught by some neighbours who are supposed to be local Muslim vigilantes.

The incident which occurred on the 3rd February 2019 made Huseini Yussif runned for his life.

It is not clear where he was
taken, but Huseini Yussif was said to have been assaulted and beaten up by mud of racketeers who first got to him the community vigilantes got there, however, he escaped to an unknown destination. He has since been on the run for some time now.

The neighbourhood vigilante, community police and some local high-ranking Islamic clerics, Mallams and Imams are on a manhunt looking for him. Also, there are several groups of persons in the neighbourhood that are wanted on suspicion of being gay.

The manifestation is that the Ghana Police Service issues an arrest warrant on anybody caught practising Gay or in a large contest; LGBTQI+ activities because it is considered against the laws of Ghana in reference to the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), which forbids unnatural carnal knowledge with the same gender.

Huseini Yusif is believed to be in a hideout in Koforidua, Kumasi, Tamale, Aflao, Bawku and surrounding areas. Anybody with information about his whereabouts can report to the nearest police station.
