The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa has been sacked.

This was contained in a letter dated, Monday, October 17, 2022, from the Office of the President.

A copy of the letter issued and signed by the Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo communicating the termination of Prof. Opoku-Amankwa’s appointment said: “The Ministry of Education has informed this Office that the exigencies that required your skills and expertise as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service do not exist any longer.”

He has thus been asked to return to his position at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST).

Prof. Opoku-Amankwa was on secondment to the GES from the KNUST.
