Some residents of Adabraka in Accra have taken a swipe at the government for failing to take steps to prevent flooding in the area after the area was flooded following a heavy downpour Monday afternoon.

A 20-minute rain in Accra has forced residents around the Iran Clinic hospital area to leave their homes and offices for fear for their lives.

A resident, Kofi Osei, has blamed the government for not constructing standard drains to check recurrent flooding in the area.

According to him, even though the incumbent government promised to build dams per their manifestos, his expectation is that government will rather construct drains as the flooding affects a lot of lives.

“This is not what we voted for; it didn’t rain so heavy but look at this. I don’t know what will be the aftermath after a heavy downpour.

“We want One District One Dam and not One House One Dam,” he told Adomonline.com.
