Boy killed, two others injured in Gbulung building collapse

The town of Gbulung in the Kumbungu District of the Northern Region has been thrown in the state of mourning after a building collapsed on a family killing a 10-year-old boy.

Two others are said to be in critical condition when the building caved-in during a heavy downpour in the area.

The family of the deceased, Ibrahim Yussif told Adom News the incident happened Saturday night after heavy downpour.

He said the young boy has since been buried and the two others have been referred to Tamale West Hospital for further treatment.

Also, Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Abdulai Yussif said the victims were rushed to the Gbulung Clinic where the boy died by health officials upon arrival.

The two others, he noted, were rushed to the Tamale West hospital due to the their injuries to save their lives.

Hon. Abdulai Yussif also appealed for support for other residents in the area who were also affected by the heavy downpour.

Meanwhile the national Disaster Management Organization is yet to visit the scene.
