Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank LTD spends GHS21,795.20 on corporate social responsibilities
Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank Limited last year 2017 spent an amount of GHS 21,795.20 on developmental support given to communities and institutions within its catchment area.
The breakdown as given by authorities of the Bank include; the donation of 50 bags of cement (GHS 1,540.00) to salvation Army JHS to support their school project, two sets of Nasco branded flat screen television ( GHS 1,705.20) to Sekyere south and Afigya Kwabre District Assembly, a cash donation of GHS 2,514.50 to Rebecca Foundation, donations of GHS 500.00 to NCCE to support a quiz contest, provision of GHS 100 bags of cement (GHS 2,830.00) to Osei Kyeretwie SHS to support the school’s project.
The Bank again gave out an amount of GHS 200.00 to Sekyere South District Assembly to support Girl Child Education, the payment of GHS 1,000 to cover the surgery bills of a student called Eric Akosah, 50 bags of cement (GHS 1,565.00) to Ghana Adventist as a support to a church project, a cash donation of GHS 5,000.00 to Wiamoase Town council among others.
The expression of this act of benevolence according to authorities was to show that they are not out of touch with issues related to development within their area of operation.
Aside the foregoing, the Board Chairman for the Bank Mr Kennedy Obiri Yeboah said in his report during an Annual General Meeting that Okomfo Anokye Rural Bank will soon set in motion measures that will make their operation much flexible.
The Bank he indicated is at the advanced stage of changing its core Banking Software Application to ensure improved business relations with cherished customers.
The software according to him is expected to help reduce turnaround time and also explore alternative channels such as:
deployment of ATMs, issue of visa cards to facilitate withdrawal anywhere in the world, more transparent susu collection with instant SMS Alert of Susu Deposit.
Others include the use of ePassbook, mobile Banking via mobile phones and ability to transfer cash to and from mobile money wallet and bank account.
Mr Kennedy Obiri-Yeboah indicated that construction of a new Wide Area Network (WAN) and software installation have been completed and that authorities are on course to complete migration to the new core Banking software by December 2018.
