Proactive Ghana, a non-governmental organization (NGO), with support from Kpatsa and Associate and Anyako Farms on August 25, 2021 donated some wheelchairs to Ketu South Municipal health directorate in Aflao to assist in delivery of its health services to its clients within the Ketu South Municipality.

The donation was received by the municipal health director and his team.

Prior to handing over the items, the two organizations held a closed-door meeting to discuss modalities and ways of working together in other to render quality health services and support within the municipality.

The health directorate expressly agreed to partner with Proactive Ghana in all endeavors in ensuring that the aims and goals of both organizations are fully met.

The health director outlined some areas of concern with regards to assistance and partnership with Proactive Ghana, these areas include but not limited to Public Health Education, Testing and Counselling etc.

In, handing over the mobility aid (Wheelchairs) to the Municipal health directorate, the Executive Director of Proactive Ghana, Lawyer Theophilus Dzimega Jnr told the health directorate that the donation is part of the Proactive Ghana project of donating wheelchairs to a number of health facilities in the country and build a working relationship with those facilities.

Mr. Dzimega alluded that the essence of the donation to Ketu South Municipal health directorate was to aid individuals within the municipality who have challenges with mobility.
The Ketu South Municipal health director, Mr. Joseph Kwami Degley received the wheelchairs on behalf of the directorate.

He indicated that the donation could not have come at any better time as the health facilities in the municipality need more of the wheelchairs. He was very happy and grateful to Proactive Ghana.

Speaking to the media, Lawyer Theophilus Dzimega indicated that Proactive Ghana has plans to undertake a number of activities in the area of Public Education on HIV/AIDS, Maternal and Child health care, and these requires collaboration with the Municipal health directorate.

He also indicated that although the Covid-19 has affected most activities of Proactive Ghana, it is taking advantage of what is happening now in order to reach out to vulnerable groups such as people living with disability and mental health issues.

On the other hand, Mr. Joseph Kwami Degley thanked Proactive Ghana for it support, and hope that the new relationship with Proactive Ghana will bring more of such donation and a harmonious collaboration.

He said the donation will go a long way to make a difference in the lives of their clients and promised that the wheelchairs would be used for its intended purpose.

Also present at the meeting and the donation were Mr. Daniel Alimo, a team member of Proactive Ghana and a representative of WAAF, Mr. Ibrahim Kamara, an administrative officer of Proactive Ghana, Mr. Palmer Prince Dagadu, an administrative officer of Proactive Ghana and some staff of the Ketu South Municipal Health directorate including Mr. Charles Amanyoh, the health promotion officer of the municipal.
