Audio: I miss Anas sometimes – Ken Agyapong

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says even though he is against the methods of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, he misses him sometimes.

Touting the professional prowess of the investigative journalist, the controversial legislator said even though he does not support the latter’s methodology of exposing alleged corrupt state officials, he is sometimes tempted to embrace his style of investigations because of the conduct of some state officials.

“Even though I’m against his method, sometimes one is tempted to permit it due to the attitudes of some state officials; I miss him sometimes,” he said on Adom TVs Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday.

The outspoken MP was commenting on the disappearance of about 600,000 litres of contaminated fuel at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST).

A five-member committee set up by the current Managing Director of BOST, George Mensah Oakley, to take stock of five million litres of the off-spec product has noticed the disappearance of the content.

Mr Agyapong, describing the development at BOST as disgusting said he is tempted to sometimes use  Anas’ style of investigations to capture the corrupt activities of some state officials.

He said it will be over his dead body that further payments will be made to the companies making demands because it is not right.

He has described the activities of such companies as fraudulent and must be resisted by those in authority.

He has, therefore, called for thorough investigations into the matter.
