Boy, 5, drowns at airport roundabout after heavy downpour in Ashanti region

 

A five (5) year-old boy has drowned at the airport roundabout after a heavy downpour in some parts of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital.

The sad incident which occurred on Saturday around 6pm has thrown residents in and around the area into a state of shock.

Some parts of the Metropolis were flooded after an hour of a downpour.

An eyewitness Sofo Boadi narrating the unfortunate incident to MyNewsGh.com reporter said the deceased who was walking with the elder brother slipped into a death trap gutter.

According to Sofo Boadi, all effort by Fire Service personnel, NADMO and section of the community members to retrieve the body proved futile. He added that the search for the body will continue today September 16, 2018.
