[KOMENDA SUGAR FACTORY]: Minster of trade & industry has to do the answering not me – Central Regional Minister

The Central Regional Minister Hon Kwamena Duncan has stated that, all direct responsibility on Komenda Sugar factory at Komenda Edina Egufo Abrem Municipal is not under in his hand but rather on the minister of trade and industry.
“Komenda sugar factory was first established in 1960s by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was part of his economic policy for industrialization but collapsed.
It was later revamped in May 2016 by the erstwhile Mahama-led administration with a $35-million Indian government facility,factory said it has a manufacturing appetite capable of producing 1,250 tonnes of sugar daily and also create about 7000 direct and indirect jobs
but the factory closed down in July 2016 after the sugar cane season petered”.
According to him,the factory is in region but direct responsibility is not under my hand so if anyone wanted authorized responses from me as regional you will not get them.
Regional minister made this unknown statement when he met journalist’s at regional coodinative council in cape coast.
Theme: “2018 central regional mid-year review performance”,he highlighted, sanitation,education,one district one factory, security and roads etc.
‘Quizzed question was posed by a journalist about the ‘stage of komenda sugar factory’ ?
Speaking to Jounalists,central regional minister in his answering said,he is not the one who takes decisions over what to be done with komenda sugar factory,it is the ministry of trader and industry and i know that the minister has also not gone to rest,
the minister is taking all the necessary steps to ensure the factory works.
“I can not speak for minister of trader and industry,he has to do the answering not me” regional minister stated.
Hon Kwamena Duncan, regional minister therefore hinted that five (5) factories are most done in the region,
‘such districts as follows  Komenda Edina Egufo Abrem,EKumfi,Awutu Senya West’.
Government have made some progress and wish to see all the districts have factory on their own.
According to him, he states that,”i have already indeed assured some of districts where they have not seen action to exercise patience as the preparate works is ongoing”.
