A founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party and Presidential Advisor Dr. Amoako Tuffuor has died, Starr News has learnt.
He reportedly died at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra Thursday.
Dr. Tuffuor is the initiator and former National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme under the Kufuor administration.
Last year, a disagreement between him and the Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu during the party’s parliamentary primaries was widely reported in the media.
The Majority leader subsequently apologised to him.
After the 2020 elections, Dr. Tuffuor also asked the Ashanti regional chairman of the party Bernard Antwi Bosiako to resign his post.
“NPP did not perform well. We could have done better but due to imposition of individuals on the people during our primaries, a lot of things didn’t go well.
“Some ministers, MMDCEs and behaviour of other appointees also nearly contributed to our defeat,” Dr Amoako-Tuffour noted.
