Okala dies while jubilating over Akufo-Addo’s win
A member of of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in Saboba has lost his life in the course of jubilation after the party’s flagbearer was declared as the winner of the just-ended general election.
The deceased, one Wassah Mohammed known popularly as Okala is said to have fallen off a motorbike he was standing on without control.
Okala was pronounced dead on arrival at the Saboba hospital.
He has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions.
From the EC’s collated results, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,413 of the votes cast which represent 51.59% of the total votes cast nationwide on December 7.
His closest contender, John Mahama of the NDC also polled 6,214,889 which gives him 47.36% of the total votes cast.
