Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed Serbian Kosta Papic as head coach of the club, replacing Nii Odoom.

The 60-year-old returns to the Phobian dugout after leading them in the 2008/09 season, the last time they won the Ghana Premier League.

However, he did not complete the season with them. He left on a mutual consent leading the table ten points with seven games to finish the season.

The club confirmed his return through a social media graphic but did not state the period of appointment and the position of outgoing coach, Nii Odoom, but reports suggest he’d be heading back to the club’s junior team, Auroras.

Odoom was kept in charge of the first-team duties last season when Kim Grant was sacked after just one game into the truncated 2019/20 season.

The 20-time Ghana Premier League winners earlier also appointed former Berekum Chelsea head coach, Asare Bediako, as an assistant coach.

Hearts of Oak have played two games this season; drawing with Ashantigold at home and lost to Inter Allies last weekend with an outstanding match to be played against Aduana Stars.
