90,000 applicants accept NABCO posting

90,000 applicants of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) Programme have accepted their placement in all seven modules of the programme across the country.

Placed applicants have subsequently submitted their letters of acceptance, paving way for President Nana Addo Dankwa Aakufo-Addo to publicly out door them on October 17, 2018.

In all 100,000 graduates are expected to be enrolled onto the programme for the first year and will be on the programme for 3 years.

Speaking in an interview, Chief Executive Officer of NABCO, Dr. Anyars Ibrahim disclosed that the remaining 10,000 applicants are expected to finalize their documentation and subsequent acceptance of their placements by Friday, October 5, 2018.

Shedding light on the status of applicants placed on the pending list, Dr. Anyars disclosed that the secretariat had to device some measures of professional verification for applicants of Heal Ghana and Feed Ghana modules, but added that the needed checks and verifications have been done and have been successfully posted to their various institutions awaiting the presidential commissioning.

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) was launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of government’s initiative to provide jobs for the country’s unemployed graduates. There seven modules under NABCO is meant to help address the challenges facing the nation’s most pressing sectors while providing jobs to graduates who are unable to find jobs partly due to a ban on public sector employment by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

They have been put on Civic Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Educate Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, Digitize Ghana, Heal Ghana and Feed Ghana modules of the programme.

The selected 100,000 recruits who will be rolled out in the various modules under the Nation Builders Corps initiative are expected to exit the programme after 3 years this Dr. Anyars says will boost productivity in the various sectors and also add value to the skill and knowledge of the trainees for which they will be well placed to be self-reliant in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Many graduates who have been unemployed for years after school have heaved a sigh of relief with their successful placement, days to their passing out.
