5 crashed to death on Sunyani-Kumasi highway while going for funeral

Five people have died in a head-on collision involving a Toyota RAV4 and a commercial Kia truck between Duayaw Nkwanta and Bechem on the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway in the Ahafo Region.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The victims, four women and a man, were all passengers in the RAV4.

Information gathered by Adom News suggests that the driver and mate of the Kia truck sustained severe injuries.

The deceased were reportedly traveling from Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region to attend a funeral in Kumasi.

Emergency response teams from the Ghana Police Service and Ghana National Fire Service in Duayaw Nkwanta and Bechem arrived at the scene to provide assistance and manage traffic.

The police have commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
