4 injured, 70 households displaced in rainstorm at Tepa Abonsuaso

Four individuals sustained injuries and over 70 households have been displaced following a rainstorm that struck Tepa Abonsuaso in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Friday, January 24, 2025.

In an interview with Channel One TV on Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Abonsuaso Zonal Coordinator for the National Disaster Managment Organisation (NADMO) stated that efforts are underway to provide relief to the affected residents as authorities assess the full extent of the damage.

He explained that the rainstorm had caused significant destruction in the community.

“Around 7:30 last night, a heavy downpour caused substantial damage, leaving many houses and school buildings without roofing sheets. So far, four individuals have sustained injuries, 28 houses have been affected, and nearly 70 people are homeless,” he stated.

He added, “We have been able to provide temporary shelter for some of the victims, and the assessment is still ongoing.”
