4 DEAD as house stocked with barrels of premix fuel at Kormantse EXPLODES

A house stocked with barrels of premix fuel has exploded at Kormantine in the Central region resulting in the death of four people and three in critical condition at the Cape Coast Teaching hospital.

The victims who received severe burn injuries were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The victims including the dead were sleeping when the premix fuel exploded though it is not known what may have sparked the explosion.

According to reports, the premix fuel is mostly kept in the house by the fishermen meant for their fishing activities.

Whiles the fishermen were trying to bring out some of the premix fuel from one of the rooms, one of the tenants had also set fire close to the room, hence it caught fire.

The fire could have spread to nearby houses if not for the intervention of officials of the Ghana National Fire Service.
