Four persons have been confirmed dead after a head-on collision of two trucks at Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region.

Two others believed to be occupants of one of the vehicles who have also not been identified have been rushed to the Komfo Teaching Hospital and are said to be in a critical condition.

An eyewitness disclosed that one of the trucks which was carting timber logs lost balance and thus ran into another truck that was transporting cattle on the other lane resulting in the collision.

This adds to the over 1,000 road carnages recorded in the first quarter of 2021.
