36-year-old Nigerian woman dies during BBL surgery in Lagos
A 36-year-old woman is reported to have died after a failed buttocks enhancement surgery at a clinic in Lagos State’s upmarket Lekki-Phase 1 district.
The death of the woman identified as Abiola sent shockwaves across the Island after reports of her death emerged.
Sources who spoke to the online portal Gistlover said Abiola left her home located at Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki to the clinic to enhance her looks.
The portal said: “When the owner arrived at the clinic, he lost no time in ordering a nurse to give an injection designed to initiate the operation. However, what was meant to be a basic cosmetic augmentation quickly turned into a nightmare. Abiola’s health deteriorated rapidly after the injection.”
The reports further indicted that she lost all consciousness almost immediately, and her breathing became laborious and irregular, causing the clinic personnel to fear.
She was then sent to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1, where she was pronounced dead.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson disclosed that a suspect has already been arrested.
Hundeyin said, “The private driver of the deceased reported the incident to the Maroko division. Our officers visited the scene and the body was sent to a public morgue for an autopsy. The nurse who injected the deceased has been arrested and an investigation is ongoing.”
