3-year-old boy drowns in Manhole at Fise

A three year old boy who has been identified as Mawuko has drowned in a manhole at Fise in the Ga West District of the Greater Accra Region.

The toddler fell into the uncovered manhole in their uncompleted house while playing around the house.

The father of the baby, had traveled to Sogakope to work and left the baby in the care of the mother.

At about 5:00pm on Sunday, the toddler who was playing on the compound allegedly slipped into the uncovered manhole.

The late Mawuko was said to have shouted severally for help after falling into the manhole filled with water.

This caused the mother to cry for help but by the time help arrived, the boy had drowned.

The Amasaman Police has been to the scene.
