3 injured in Accra Mall roof collapse

There was mayhem and a lot of frenzy among shoppers and shopkeepers at the Accra Mall shopping centre located around Tetteh Quarshie roundabout when an artic ripped off injuring some customers along the walkway within the mall.

Part of the shopping area was closed off to the public as all shoppers and shopkeepers were evacuated to the forecourt.

Officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) together with the Police were quickly dispatched to the shopping centre to ascertain the degree of damage while the latter warded off customers to ensure their safety.

Some customers who were at the centre at the time of collapse while recounting their plight disclosed that two people appeared injured whereas others also recorded three.

One customer expressed disappointment at the lackadaisical approach of the security officers who were at the shopping centre before the Police arrived but was positive that the occurrence would not deter him from coming again to procure his goods from the place.

Not long ago there was a report by a controversial man of God popularly known as the Eagle Prophet that there would be a fuel tanker explosion where thousands of people would die.

According to the prophet, the incident which was revealed to happen between the hours of 11:40 am to 12:00 noon on September 20 would extend to the Accra Mall area hence called on the public to heed to the directives of God by praying in order to avert all demonic activities against the nation.

He later on came under fire after the said explosion didn’t take place.
