2baba’s mother finally meets Natasha

Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has joyfully reunited with his mother, Rose Idibia, after a worrying period during which he was reported missing.

Earlier this year, in February, the Idibia family raised concerns by petitioning the Department of State Services (DSS), reporting that 2Baba had been unaccounted for since February 10. According to reports at the time, the singer had left his residence wearing lounge wear and subsequently disappeared without a trace.

However, a recently surfaced video captures an emotional and cheerful moment as 2Baba reunited with his mother and other family members. Also present at the reunion was Natasha Osawaru, the singer’s new partner, suggesting that previous family tensions might now be easing.

Background: Family Tensions and New Relationship

Earlier in February, Rose Idibia had publicly voiced her disapproval of 2Baba’s relationship with Natasha Osawaru. She pleaded with Natasha to stay away from her son and demanded the removal of beads tied around 2Baba’s wrists and neck, insinuating that he was not acting “of his own free will.”

In response, Natasha clarified that the beads were cultural symbols tied to her royal heritage, not signs of manipulation or control.

2Baba and Natasha’s relationship first came into the public eye in January 2025 when 2Baba confirmed their union, shortly after announcing his separation from his former wife, Annie Idibia. He proposed to Natasha around the same time, stressing that their relationship had no connection to his breakup with Annie.

Adding to the signs of deepening commitment, Natasha recently updated her Instagram biography to include 2Baba’s surname, signaling a stronger bond between them.

Traditional Union Ceremony

Naija News also earlier reported that 2Baba and Natasha Osawaru — who is a member of the Edo State House of Assembly — have formalized their relationship with a traditional ceremony.

In a viral video from the ceremony, Natasha, dressed in traditional Idoma attire and with a scarf covering her face, was seen making her way toward 2Baba’s family. She was accompanied by traditional dancers, also dressed in Idoma outfits, as a large gathering of guests celebrated the couple’s union.

The touching reunion with his mother and the latest developments in his personal life show that 2Baba is entering a new chapter with family bonds seemingly healing and a fresh start with his new partner.
