25-year-old man beats 53-year-old fiancée to near death over meat

Grace Mensah, a 53-year-old woman, is currently fighting for her life at St. Francis Hospital in Assin Fosu after allegedly being assaulted by her 25-year-old fiancée.

The suspect, identified as Arhinful, is currently on the run following the incident, which occurred on May 7, 2025, at their residence in Assin Wurakese. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over goat meat.

According to the victim’s daughter, Priscilla Boakye, Arhinful had brought goat meat home for Grace to prepare. However, upon returning with friends, he became dissatisfied with the quantity of meat in the food, sparking a heated argument.

During the altercation, Arhinful allegedly grabbed Grace by the throat and subjected her to a severe beating, resulting in a leg fracture. Priscilla stated that her mother had a pre-existing leg wound that was nearly healed, but Arhinful worsened the injury by stepping on it during the assault.

She added that a passerby intervened, preventing the situation from escalating further. According to her, without the intervention, Arhinful might have continued to harm her mother.

Priscilla also disclosed that Arhinful, who is known to be a smoker and an alcoholic, later dropped her mother off at her residence and fled.

Tragically, Grace Mensah has been unable to speak since the incident.

She further revealed that this was not the first instance of abuse her mother had suffered at the hands of Arhinful. Despite the significant age difference, Grace had remained in the relationship, reportedly due to Arhinful’s perceived sexual prowess and youthful energy.

The family is now calling on the police to urgently apprehend Arhinful and bring him to justice, as Grace’s condition remains critical.
