2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Otto Addo aims to shoot down Kwesi Appiah’s hopes of taking Sudan to Morocco

Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo is preparing for a tactical battle with Sudan’s James Kwesi Appiah.

James Kwesi Appiah, an experienced Ghanaian tactician, is currently the head coach of Sudan’s male senior national team.

After a fairly good start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, Coach Appiah is keen on qualifying Sudan for the continental showdown in Morocco.

In the first two games of the qualifiers, Sudan, led by Coach Appiah, managed to pick up three points out of a possible six.

A win against Niger started the campaign on a bright note before Sudan fell to Angola in the second game of the qualifiers.

With a doubleheader clash against Ghana scheduled for October, Coach Appiah and his charges will be looking to pick up more points to advance their cause.

Ahead of the two games, Ghana head coach Otto Addo is also not leaving anything to chance.

The Germany-trained tactician failed to guide the Black Stars to a win in their first two matches of the qualifiers but is eager to shoot down the AFCON qualification ambitions of Coach Appiah and his Sudan side.

With so much at stake for both coaches, fans will be keen on the tactical battle that will ensue between them.

The first match between Ghana and Sudan will be played on October 11 before the reverse fixture is staged on October 14.
