Innocent Nwachukwu, the Young Progressives Party House of Assembly candidate for Umuahia east constituency seat election in Abia state come march this year, has condemned the alleged destruction of election campaign billboards mounted in  strategic places in the constituency by opposition elements.
He particularly frowned in strong terms the deliberate and wicked destruction of his billboards and posters sited beside umuohu-okpula ndume ibeku community civic hall, along the busy ikot- ekpene road in umuahia axis in Abia state,  following  the obnoxious rancour between the supporters of  YPP and Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) in Ndume otuka ward which formed parts of the present umuahia east  constituency in the state.
However, while baring his mind on the destruction of election campaign billboards mounted along ndume ibeku clan in umuahia area which contained in a statement issued on Sunday, Nwachukwu sued for the entrenchment of value and issue-based politics in the political landscape of umuahia east state constituency and not viciousness as recently displayed by followers of co-contenders in Abia house of assembly race.
He reminded  opposition parties in umuahia east constituency that elections are never won by threats in a democractic setting like ours, but by cohesion among people who shared the same political ideology for good governance.
The frontline State house of Assembly candidate reiterated to always toe the path of peace in order to foster genuine growth and prosperity in the society.
“If we do not have peace and harmony, achieving political strength, economic rejuvenation, stability, and cultural growth will be impossible, “Nwachukwu added.

Nwachukwu partly stated: “Now that Ndume ward has been allotted exclusive right to represent the good people of umuahia east state constituency at the Abia House of Assembly come this year, we must shun violent politics and seek to build atmosphere of peace and cooperation amongst us which to me, is the needed ingredients for any meaningful development or progress to take place in this our society.
“Ndume Otuka must practice peace at all levels. Be it party A or B, we are all brothers. Politics is not win or die affairs. We must congratulate anyone who emerge  the winner in the forthcoming house of Assembly election in march 11thas we are the same OTUKA.
“I therefore sue for peace anong all political parties and enjoin those in the habit if formenting trouble to desist forthwith in the interest and development of ndume otuka community”.
