The main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized the Governor of the state and the Peoples Democractic Party senatorial candidate for Abia south district seat, Okezie Ikpeazu, for allegedly resorting to falsehoods and deceits aimed at luring the electorates in securing their votes in feburary 25 national assembly elections across the whole states in Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The party leadership particularly, frowned in strong terms Governor Ikpeazu’s latest use of free school feeding programmes initiated, and being implemented by the APC-controlled federal government of Nigeria in most primary and secondary schools across the federation, as strategy to garner undeserving support and votes of the Abia people to become a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria in next month elections.
Chief Offor Okorie, the Abia Publicity Secretary of the APC, revealed this while addressing journalists in umuahia on Wednesday, against the backdrops, insisted that it amount to big shame for the governor to lay claim to the federal project during his recent campaign tours to local government areas in Abia south senatorial zone and also cautioned Ikpeazu to refrain from crediting himself the FG-sponsored program to glorify his woeful failure.
“We advise the state governor to use one of his unforeseen paper work named as legacy projects to campaigns in Abia south senatorial district,”he added.
Okorie maintained that Governor Ikpeazu and Peoples Democratic Party government has failed to justify the mandate entrusted to him by the people of the state, and challenged the Abia chief executive to point out any tangible and impactful legacy project his administration has embarked upon that will compel Abia electorates to vote for him to be elected as senator.
He further posited that Ikpeazu is unfit to further hold onto people’s mandate as he has proven himself to be a monumental failure to the state and Abia south Senatorial zone.
Words: “i am appealing to the good people of Abia south zone not to vote in Governor Ikpeazu into the senate. He has nothing to offer, rather, if voted into the senate, he will just sit inside the upper legislative chamber aloof and listen to deliberations without nothing to contribute”.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Abia state and Peoples Democractic Party Senatorial candidate for Abia south district for the feburary national assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okezie Ikpeazu, has hinted his ambition to be elected as senator of the federal republic of Nigeria is predicated on the yearning of the people of zone for change of the narratives in legislative representation of Abia south in the senate by mainstreaming the welfare of women, youths and children in the Senatorial district.
He also posited that his stewardship in the past seven years will definitely guarantee his victory come 25th feburary, and further added it is the culture of his people yo reward handwork.
The frontline PDP senatorial candidate, expressed his profound appreciation to entire people of Obingwa local government area for having the implicit confidence in him and admonished them to cast their votes for him and the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Abia state, Professor Uchenna Ikonne in the coming national assembly and governorship elections across the state by the Nigeria’s electoral commission.
