2023: Abia ADC blows hot over purported claims about its Guber candidate
He also described the State ADC governorship standard-bearer as a political lightweight and mole planted by a former Abia Governor, Senator Theodore Orji, and ruling Peoples Democratic Party to destroy the party.
However, while earlier reacting to the recent vituperations against Abia Gubernatorial Candidate of the ADC by ex-party chieftain, Friday, the Abia treasurer of the African Democratic Congress, Prince Victor Okey Mmaju also said the claim by Mr Norman Obinna purporting that Onuoha was planted as a mole to destroy the Abia ADC is farther from truths, and stated unequivocally that nobody nor godfather stationed Bishop Onuoha in the party to play out political script, adding that the frontline Abia governorship standard-bearer is singlehandedly funding his current 2023 political bid.
According to him, “he should come forward with prove that former governor of Abia state, T. A Orji is sponsoring Bishop Sunday Onuoha. We’re not surprised about the lunatic rantings of Don Norman Obi who he has been indulging in questionable acts that landed him twice in prison. He was a formet media aide to the former Governor, and currently the Senator representing Abia central district in the national assembly, and was sacked because of his questionable and obnoxious characters. Sometime last year, he landed in Afara prison because issuance of fake cheque to a hotel management in Umuahia. He absconded from the hotel accomodations and refused to pay off backlogs of debts owed to the hotel management.
“Let me shock you this same character called Don Norman Obinna was given over four hundred thousand naira by Bishop Onuoha to repair his car. Due to the party leadership in Abia state insisted on credible electoral process which led to emergence of Bishop Sunday Onuoha as Abia Gubernatorial Candidate of ADC, and also coupled with colosaal failure of his preferred aspirant to pick the party’s ticket at the concluded primary election, he resorted to lies and cheap media propaganda against this servant-leader and God ordained next Governor of Abia come 2023. So, he is lamenting because we did not allow him to succeed with his plan to trade party to ruling PDP through their commissioned agents in the coming general elections in the state”.
The ADC state executive officer who recalled numerous uncommon capacities demonstrated by Onuoha in Abia’s economic and Infrastructural growths, and as well as human empowerment and development, assuring that the party’s governorship candidate will replicate the same laudable feats when elected to serve as the next governor of the state in March 2023 elections.
Okemmaju also described Norman Obinna’s diatribes as a clear lamentation over his failed deliberate plan with enemies of democracy to trade the party to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Abia, aimed at currying selfish political gains in build-up of the next year general elections in the state, insisting that Obinna lacked the moral justification to dabble into party matters or speak on the gubernatorial candidate of the party as he had already ceased to function as chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Abia state.
On the misconception about his political fellowership and structure, Prince Okey Mmaju said Bishop Sunday Onuoha maintains eighty percent of Abia electorates which cut across 184 electoral wards of the seventeen local government areas in Abia state who are de yearning for effective and responsive leadership in all levels of the state having been wallowed in perpetual and irredeemable poverty, starvation, economic hardship and Infrastructural decadence, assuring that Onuoha when elected into office will rewrite the narrative in governance of the state and also ensure the citizenry enjoy the democratic dividends to enhance their welfare and deepen growth and development in every parts of Abia state.
He said the outbursts by Mr Don Norman Obi was shrouded on hatred, envy, jealous, cheap propaganda and blackmail solely hatched to portray the gubernatorial standard-bearer in bad, and as well as demarket him before the teeming population of the electorates ahead of the upcoming general elections in 2023 in Abia state.
According to the founder and President Vision Africa Group, “he was expelled from the African Democratic Congress over abuse of office, gross misconduct and mismanagement of party funds for personal and selfish political aggrandisement. I am informing you authoritatively that he was expelled by the party leadership in the state, and the expulsion was ratified by the National Executive Council of the ADC.
“So, let me reiterate and make it clear to the general public that Don Norman Obinna is no longer the executive committee chairman of ADC in Abia state. He failed to demonstrate capacity as then state party chairman untill the state leadership of our party deemed it fit and expelled him from the party. His expulsion was also ratified by party national working committee(NWC). As far as Abia ADC is concerned, Obinna has ceased to be a member and party chairman in the state.
