2020 polls: NDC will win even with Akufo-Addo as EC boss

Wonder Madilo, an aspiring National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said current happenings in Ghana, especially with the economy, give the NDC a chance to win the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has failed the people of Ghana woefully, especially in the area of job creation.

To that end, the NDC, which in his view, has a track record of creating jobs for the youth, must recapture political power in the 2020 elections.

He said on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Thursday, 6 September that: “Even if the NPP makes President Akufo-Addo the Chair of the EC ahead of the 2020 elections, they will still lose the elections, the NDC will win because Ghanaians are disappointed at the current government, people are losing their jobs anyhow.

“With the zeal and strength in the NDC now, it will be difficult for any party to beat us in the 2020 elections and the NPP knows that; they know their time is up.”

He added: “There are no polling stations at the EC offices, the polling stations are at the branches and that is where the elections are won, and, so, you cannot lose focus at the branches and go and sit at the EC offices and be shouting and crying, the work is required at the base and I am focused on bringing the party back to power through the base.”
