2019 VGMAs: Shatta Wale wanted to congratulate Stonebwoy on stage – Eyewitnesses reveal

Shatta Wale had caused chaos at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when Stonebwoy was announced as the winner for the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year.

He had walked onto the stage leading to a fight that broke out between his fans and those of Stonebwoy.

His walking to the stage was understood by Stonebwoy’s fans as an attack on their idol, forcing them to start an attack on him.

This was not taken lightly by the Shatta Movement (SM) fans who jumped onto the stage to also fight Stonebowy and his people.

However, some patrons of the event who spoke with TV3 and monitored by YEN.com.gh revealed that Shatta Wale intended to go congratulate Stonebwoy on stage.

All four people who spoke said Shatta Wale walked onto the stage to shake hands with Stonebwoy for his achievement.

However, his action was misinterpreted by the BHIM fans belonging to Stonebwoy hence the attack. YEN.com.gh has published a video of how the situation was, leading to a suspension of the event till calm set in.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy also pulled a gun during the commotion to defend himself. Others have still condemned Shatta Wale saying no matter his intention, he had no business walking onto the stage when Stonebwoy was there.

The two musicians have long been rivals, and so there was no way BHIM fans would take his coming on stage as a cool mission, others who spoke with YEN.com.gh have reasoned.
