2 Fulani men shot dead in Karaga

Two men believed to be Fulani in the Karaga district of the Northern Region have been shot dead by unknown assailants.

The deceased, identified as Alhaji Abdul Salam Hammer, a 51-year-old herdsman, and Abdulai Iddrisu, 43-year- old Arabic teacher, were found in a pool of blood with bullet wounds on their bodies at Nangon, a community near Karaga.

DSP Mohammed Yussif Tanko, the Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, confirmed the incident to Class News’ regional correspondent Mohammed Gadafi and revealed that the residents had told the police that the suspects forcefully broke into the rooms of the victims and shot them dead.

According to DSP Yussif Tanko, 12 empty AK-47 ammunition shells and one live ammunition were retrieved from the crime scene.

He said the police have begun investigations to arrest the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the bodies have been taken to the Karaga district hospital for autopsy.
