17 passengers robbed at Bekwai
About 17 passengers traveling from Elibo in the Western Region to Kumasi have been robbed at gunpoint by four robbers armed in between Asante Bekwai and Ahwia Nkwanta Wednesday dawn.
The robbers according to the driver of the Urvan Bus Omane Kofi who doubles as Vice-chairman of GPRTU in Elibo, the robbers first robbed three cargo vehicles before attacking then.
He disclosed that Omane that he was robbed of 1,500.00, mobile phone, while other 16 passengers in his car were robbed of all their belongings including money, bags and other personnel effects.
Though no casualty was recorded, the robbers shot into the cars leaving some of the cars destroyed.
