A total number of 14,956 Personal Identification Number (PIN) Codes for newly-trained teachers from all the accredited Colleges of Education in the country have been released to enable them begin with their national service for 2018/2019 service year.

This was contained in a press release from the National Service Secretariat (NSS) on Friday, 2 November 2018.

The NSS said the Scheme has put in place the necessary processes for the newly-trained teachers to begin their one-year mandatory national service in fulfillment of the National Service Scheme Act 426 (1980) which states that it shall be the duty of every Ghanaian National at the age 40 and below who has completed an accredited tertiary institution to undertake one-year mandatory national service.

They are therefore requesting the newly-trained teachers to visit the Scheme’s website to access their PIN Codes with their respective index numbers, and to proceed to any branch of Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) Limited throughout the country to make payment of GHS40.00 or GHS 41.00 using MTN Mobile Money to activate the enrolment process.

“Management urges all prospective National Service Personnel to ensure that they complete their enrolment process on or before Friday, 16 November 2018,” the statement noted.

NSS said they have met with the leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), Teachers and Trainees’ Association (TTA) and the Coalition of Newly Trained Teachers (CNTT) to discuss the laid-down processes leading to the deployment of the newly-trained Teachers.

“At the said meeting, the Management of the National Service Scheme informed the TTAG, TTA and the CNTT that, the newly- trained teachers’ online registration details with the Ghana Education Service (GES) have been submitted to the National Service Scheme for the generation of Pin Codes and subsequent registration for posting. The meeting agreed that all newly-trained teachers will begin their national service by Monday, 3 December 2018,” the statement added.
