120 NDC members defect to NPP at Kwesimintsim

About one hundred and twenty (120) members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region have defected to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing the media at Race Course, a community within the Constituency to denounce their membership from the NDC, spokesperson for the defectors, Theophilus Kwame Fiagbe said neither that the NDC presidential candidate, former President John Mahama or the parliamentary candidate in Kwesimintsim, Mr Philip Buckman have demonstrated that they have an understanding of their plight and the ideas that will make their lives better.

“Dr Armah’s inspiring life story, his demonstrable competence, his empathy for those in need and his focus on politics that is about uniting and uplifting people has been a breath of fresh air in Kwesimintsim politics,” Fiagbe told the media.

He further added that they are leaving the NDC party of “SADA and bus branding to join the NPP of Free SHS and NABCO”.

He stated that “we are leaving the party of John Mahama and Philip Buckman for the party of President Akufo-Addo and Dr Prince Hamid Armah, we choose better and we will not go back.

The defectors took time one after the other denouncing their membership amidst destruction of the NDC party card.

Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party for Kwesimintsim Dr Prince Hamid Armah in his response to the defectors assured them that their lives will be better.

“The NPP is a party of opportunities, we believe in improving the lots of all, I’m happy you have seen the light, work with us to get more of the NDC members to join the NPP”, he told the defectors.

Western Regional Organiser of the NPP, Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, Assistant Regional Secretary, Rex Johnfiah and the Constituency first vice Chairman, Jerry Hanson welcomed the defectors on behalf of the leadership of the party.
