12 years after, Zulum flags off NYSC orientation course with 1,125 corps members
Speaking during the flagging-off ceremony at ATC temporary orientation camp in Maiduguri on Tuesday, Zulum stated that the entire security architecture of Borno has witnessed tremendous improvement under him.
He noted that, now people in Borno state are going about their businesses without any risk to life or property.

According to him, the synergy between the state government, military, paramilitary and other security outfits in the state remained very productive and action-oriented which led to the reopening of the NYSC orientation camp 12 years after closure.
“As you make the signature to commence the National Youth Service journey through Borno State, I assure, you will all have good testimony to make at the end of this year, insha’Allah”.
“Already your predecessors have shared their collective and individual experiences about the level of security and welfare provided for the success of their service in Borno State “.
The Governor reinstated that his administration is aware of all the corp members’ welfare and will have reasons to outshine the previous corp members in the state.
He explained that, based on the request by the Borno State NYSC coordinator, the state government will very soon embark on the reconstruction of the NYSC permanent site.
Earlier speaking, the Borno State Coordinator of NYSC, Comrade Mohammed Jiva said a total of 1,125 Prospective Corps Members were registered comprising 629 males and 496 females respectively, adding that no one among has reported any case of security threat to life and property in the course of their respective journeys to Borno States.
“May I also inform His Excellency of the tremendous support of the Theatre Commander, North East, Operation Hadin Kai Maj Gen GU nibuisi, the GOC, 7 Division, Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maj Gen PP Malla and the Garrison Commander, Brig Gen TM Opurun”.
“In addition, our gratitude goes to the Diréctor, Department of state services, the Commissioner of Police and the Zonal and State Commandants of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in ensuring that the Camp and its environs are safe and secure”.
