107 foreigners engaged in galamsey, fraud deported

This action underscores the government’s commitment to addressing these issues and protecting Ghana’s natural resources.

Speaking at the Regional Command Conference at the Police Headquarters on Friday, March 21, 2025, Muntaka stated, “Since I became the Minister of the Interior, we have repatriated over 107 foreign nationals found engaging in fraud and galamsey activities.”

The minister urged regional police commanders to take swift action when foreigners are found engaging in illegal activities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies.

He reiterated the government’s firm stance on repatriation as the primary course of action in such cases.

“I want to remind regional police commanders that if we find any foreigner in our forests, immediately call your colleagues from Immigration so they can be taken into custody.

“We have decided that any foreigner found in our forests or involved in fraudulent activities will be repatriated as our first option, and we will not compromise on this,” citinewsroom.com quoted him as saying.
