WATCH: Did Traditional Leaders Invoke Curses Amid Release of Kwahuhemaa?

Speculation has been rife on social media that traditional leaders invoked curses following the release of the Kwahu Queen Mother, Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, stirring debate and curiosity across communities.
However, reports from credible sources indicate that these claims are unverified. The Kwahu Traditional Council has dismissed allegations of any ritualistic actions, stressing that the Queen Mother’s release was lawful and executed following proper police and court procedures.
The IGP ordered her release after tensions escalated in the community, a move welcomed by peace experts such as Mustapha Abdallah of KAIPTC, who described it as a “step in the right direction” to maintain calm and prevent further unrest.
Local chiefs have urged the public to disregard misleading reports, emphasizing that the situation remains peaceful and under control.
While online speculation continues regarding curses and rituals, there is no confirmed evidence that any traditional leader invoked such measures during or after the Queen Mother’s release. Authorities and community leaders alike have called for calm and urged the public to rely on verified reports.
