WATCH: Angry crowd storm CBEX office, loot items after ponzi scheme crashes

A crowd of angry people stormed the CBEX office in the Oke Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday, looting furniture and other valuables after reports emerged that the digital trading platform had crashed.

According to witnesses, the group broke into the office and made away with chairs, tables, and other office items. The chaos is believed to have started after users of the platform discovered that their account balances had dropped to zero, sparking panic and outrage.

Several affected investors have since taken to social media to voice their anger and disappointment, with some sharing stories of losing their life savings.

A video making the rounds online captures the scene — a large crowd gathered around the CBEX premises, with people seen carrying off various items.

As of now, authorities have not released an official statement or confirmed whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident.
