Two Teen Mourners Drown In Volta River

Two teenage mourners have drowned in the Volta River in Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region.

The victims-Richard Nii Noi, 17, and Stephen Amponsah, 16, went to a funeral with other family members at Adome near Senchi but decided to swim in the Senchi Ferry stretch of the Volta River.

Unfortunately, the two drowned in the process.

Their bodies were retrieved by Police and officials of NADMO the same day Saturday, November 13, 2021, and deposited at VRA Hospital Morgue in Akosombo.

The Volta River is notorious for drowning incidents.

The area is a recreational and tourism hub hence many visitors who attempt swimming drown.
