Two Ghanaians arrested in U.S. for stolen car dealings

Two Ghanaians have been arrested in Middletown, Connecticut in America for running a stolen luxury car ring.

39-year-old Henry Sencherey and 49-year-old Rex Agumey who operated from a garage on West Lake Street have been charged for receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

Police began investigating the garage last month after they got hint it was being used to ship stolen cars overseas.

After obtaining a search warrant, the police searched the garage and seized stolen cars which they believed were going to be shipped to Ghana.

Among the cars seized during the search were a Maserati, an Audi and a BMW stolen from New Jersey and Illinois.

According to court documents, an undercover officer saw one of the suspects drive the gray 2017 Maserati with Delaware tags into the garage Tuesday night.

The documents further revealed that Rex Agumey told police he was going to drive the cars to a port in New Jersey.

The two men are believed to be part of an international theft ring.
