Truck crashes taxi cab killing driver, 4 others injured

A taxi driver has met his untimely death after a heavy truck ran over his taxi cab at Agona Mensakrom in the Agona West District of the Central Region Thursday morning.

Report gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan indicates that, the taxi cab with registration number GW-7168-19 was transportation a Senior High School Form One Student from Agona Swedru to Breman Asikuma Senior High School and upon reaching Agona Mensakrom, the truck veered off its lane and ran over the taxi killing the driver instantly.

Four others who were in the taxi are injured and have been rushed to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital for treatment.

Speaking in an interview with one of the passengers said, residents who came to the accident scene to rescue them have stolen all their monies they were having on them.

Provisions the student was sending to school have also been stolen by the heartless residents who attended to them after the crash.

The driver of the taxi got trapped in the car until Police and Fire Service came to cut the car apart before the body was retrieved.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital Mortuary.

The case has been also reported to the Agona Swedru Police for an investigation.
