Tepamanhene Clarifies Why Daddy Lumba’s Funeral Awaits Ruling on Otumfuo’s Vow Case

The Tepamanhene has explained that the funeral of legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba will only proceed after the conclusion of a case involving Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s great vow, which has legal and traditional implications.

According to the chief, the decision to delay the funeral is not out of disregard for the late musician or his family but is meant to ensure that all customary and legal protocols are properly observed. He noted that proceeding with the burial before the court delivers its judgment could lead to ritual or procedural conflicts, potentially invalidating certain traditional rites.

The Tepamanhene emphasized that the ruling on the “great vow” case holds cultural significance and must be resolved before final rites for the highlife legend can continue. He urged members of the public and the bereaved family to remain patient, assuring them that the funeral will go ahead smoothly once the legal process is completed.

By respecting both customary law and judicial authority, the Tepamanhene believes the ceremony will uphold tradition, avoid controversy, and honor Daddy Lumba in a manner befitting his legacy.
