VIDEO: Kennedy Agyapong exposes special prosecutor for employing lawyers from his own lawfare

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has alleged that the special prosecutor has employed  lawyers from his own lawfare to work at his office.

According to the outspoken MP, the act by Kissi Agyebeng to employ his own lawyers to work at the office of the special prosecutor is a conflict of interest which can eventually affect the fight against corruption in the country. He said, the special prosecutor must be jailed.

” If we are to jail someone for corruption, a special prosecutor must be jailed first. Because the moment he was appointed, he employed his own lawyers to work at the office of the special prosecutor”. The NPP flagbearer hopeful told South Africa – based Press Radio.

Kennedy Agyapong further explained that “A lawyer came to court during Anas and I case, when the lawyer saw one of the boys (lawyer) of the special prosecutor, he told the Judge that my lord, this lawyer does not fit to be here because he works at the office of the special prosecutor and when the guy was questioned he said as at 8th February, 2021 he was not employed by his boss (Kissi Agyebeng).

“So who is supposed to be jailed first when we are talking about corruption’ he quizzed.

The legislator’s exposure came after the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng questioned the collective will of Ghanaians to fight corruption.

Asking some rhetorical questions during a presentation on Newsfile, the Special Prosecutor shared his doubt about the commitment of Ghanaians to fighting graft.

“Are we ready for the fight against corruption? From where I sit, I don’t think we are.”

“We expect so much from the institutions fighting corruption, but collectively, are we ready?” The Special Prosecutor is quoted in a report by Myjoyonline.com.

However, Kennedy Agyapong stated that the special prosecutor has no moral right to talk about corruption.
