Kumawood actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has declared that he is no longer interested in working with fellow Ghanaian actor Van Vicker.
The latest development adds another chapter to the long-running tension between the two actors, following disagreements surrounding Lil Win’s movie projects and Van Vicker’s involvement in them.
According to a report by GhanaWeb, Lil Win has removed Van Vicker from the cast of an upcoming movie and made it clear that he does not intend to use the actor for his productions again. The actor expressed his frustration over the situation, indicating that their professional relationship had reached an end.
The disagreement between the two movie stars has previously centred on Lil Win’s film A Country Called Ghana. Van Vicker was initially approached for a major role in the production but eventually did not appear in the movie. Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah later took the role.
Van Vicker subsequently explained that he had not simply rejected Lil Win’s offer. According to his account, he was willing to participate but could not commit to the full period required for filming because of his academic commitments. He said he proposed spending 10 days on set instead of the requested 30 days, but the proposal was not accepted.
The disagreement became more public as the two actors exchanged comments about the movie and their professional relationship.
Interestingly, the situation appeared to have softened at one point. In February 2025, Lil Win spoke about plans to feature Van Vicker in a future movie despite their previous differences. He also mentioned other prominent Ghanaian and Nigerian actors as potential members of his planned cast.
The latest comments, however, suggest that any possibility of the two actors working together again has now been ruled out, at least from Lil Win’s perspective.
Lil Win’s decision comes as he continues to pursue ambitious film projects and expand the scale of his productions. His previous project, A Country Called Ghana, attracted considerable attention for featuring prominent Nigerian actors, including Ramsey Nouah, Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum.
The casting choices generated debate among some Ghanaian movie fans, with questions raised about the decision to bring in Nigerian actors for a production carrying a distinctly Ghanaian title. Lil Win and his supporters have maintained that collaborations with actors from other African countries can help Ghanaian films reach wider audiences.
The history between Lil Win and Van Vicker also demonstrates how professional disagreements within Ghana’s entertainment industry can sometimes develop into highly public disputes. Both actors have established themselves as recognisable figures in Ghanaian cinema, although they have taken different paths in recent years.
For now, Lil Win appears determined to move forward without Van Vicker as part of his movie projects. His latest declaration will likely attract further reactions from movie fans, particularly given his earlier indication that he was willing to work with the actor again.
Whether the two actors will eventually reconcile remains uncertain. For the moment, however, Lil Win has drawn a clear line under their professional relationship, insisting that he is done working with Van Vicker.
